Aly & AJ have been around for over a decade, but in 2016 and 2017 পর্যন্ত until more than 10 years after the band’s debut — they didn’t really feel like artists. “For the band, I think it was like 2016/2017 when we started to feel like we had a realization of the kind of artist we wanted to be,” said Ally Stylescaster for the “What She’s Having” interview series. “I think there was another level after that when we created it Beat a touch. It was more than that, ‘OK. We really are the ground where we are as artists. ‘
Aly & AJ – consisting of sisters Aly Michalka and AJ Michalka – is the cover of the May 2022 issue of StyleCaster, the festival issue. In their “What She’s Having” interview for the issue, AJ explains that, personally, she didn’t come in to film The CW Show until she was between 20 and 21 years old. For AJ, Michalk’s younger sister explained that her own lifestyle helped her to come into her own and find herself outside of Aly & AJ. “For me, I would say when we stopped being together. When we came from our family home there was only one sister in the house then her husband was with us. It was total Company of three,“Ally had a family life with a husband, so I think the challenge was different for her because you’re just integrating your life with someone else,” she said. For me, it was learning to be completely alone, which made me realize, ‘OK. Who is AJ besides Aly and AJ? ‘ And I actually think I’m still figuring it out. “
Although Aly and AJ are both in their 30s now, they still look back on their childhood in love. “As children, we grew up watching a lot of animated movies. When we were at our mother’s house a few weeks ago, we went to see some animated films again, ”said Ally. “I was like, ‘I feel like I’m a little kid again.’ I’m in my night gown, just feeling cold and she’s making our meals and we’re watching Charm And Luka Back then I was like, ‘I’m 10 years old again.’
For AJ, he is proud of how he and Ally were true to themselves and their bond with each other when their careers skyrocketed as teenagers. “Growing up, Ally and I, no matter how big our careers grew as teenagers, we were always very sincere people and really honest and really open. I don’t think it’s going to be a great thing, “he said.” Now that I’ve grown up, so are we, and if we sometimes go away like sisters, like hallmark cards, whatever. That’s about a bond like this. You don’t have to be like, ‘Well, we don’t want to show it, because if we do, it might not be great.’ Now that we’re older, I think, ‘Yeah, that’s us. We’ve always been that way.’
