The singer shared that in her childhood she struggled with the loss of her grandmother and then with the loss of her childhood friend Jimmy. He credits music, with which his grandmother introduced him, as a means of coping.

“But it actually started when I lost my grandmother,” Brown says Cassius. “I am about 10 or 11 years old. He was like my best friend. She was my best friend. It was my grandmother who introduced me to music, who realized that I was special in music. So, it started with her.

He also opened up and shared about dealing with the pain of so much loss that keeps him focused.
