It has been two years since George Floyd was unjustly taken over on May 25, 2020, and he continues to be revered.
Today, a statue of George Floyd will be unveiled in a park created by a sculptor in his hometown of Houston. Adrian Reason-Ism.
BlackAmericaWeb Reports that entrepreneurs and philanthropists Danette Davis, K Davis Associates has donated $ 110,000 for the statue titled “Conversation with George”. The Floyd Family Foundation was also involved in creating the sculpture.
BlackAmericaWeb Note that Rison-Isom spent months researching the statue to learn about Floyd, which is located in Tom Bus Park around nature and the lake, a place that reflects his “peaceful behavior described by family and friends.”
“While creating this piece, I met many of Floyd’s family and friends, and everyone described him as having a playful, easy-going temperament and human nature,” Ism said of the statue. “I wanted to present it by sculpting him with a scary facial expression and simple body language.”
“We all saw the impact George Floyd had on the world, but at the end of the day, he was a” regular guy “with some extraordinary talent,” he added. “He was an athlete and an artist, but he was also a father, a son and a brother,” Davis said.
