Former Dallas Cowboys runner Marion Barber was found dead Wednesday in her apartment in Texas.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, police repeatedly responded to a welfare check at the apartment when calls were made about a water leak.
Police spokesman Joshua Lavell released a statement to the public about the incident. “Frisco police responded to a welfare concern in an apartment that is believed to have been leased by Marion Barbara.”
Love continues, “The Colin County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating a missing death at a Frisco police location.”
The Dallas Cowboys released an official statement on Twitter Wednesday evening:
“We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion III. Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed soccer player who ran downstairs with a desire to win. He had a passion for the game and a love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time. “
Marion has repeatedly played in the NFL for seven years, including with the Cowboys and the Chicago Bears. He finished his career with 4,780 racing yards and 53 racing touchdowns.
The cause of death of the barber is unknown at this time.
