A grand jury has charged an 18-year-old white man with first-degree murder in a Buffalo supermarket shooting.

Assistant District Attorney Gary Hackbush Announcing Thursday that first-degree murder charges, which cover 10 deaths, were handed over Wednesday.
Gendron, wearing an orange jumpsuit and a white face mask, appeared briefly in court on Thursday and remained silent throughout the process where he was ordered to be held without bail.
When he was taken away, someone shouted, “Payton, you are a coward!”
At least 10 people were killed and three others were injured in a shooting at a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday. Police say 11 of the 13 people shot were black. Authorities further allege that Zendron posted a 180-page racist manifesto online in which he described how he saw blacks as “substitutes” for whites. The alleged gunman’s social media post also revealed that he had been planning the attack for months.
Gendron was not convicted of first-degree murder before.
Authorities are still investigating allegations of hate crimes and terrorism.
He will be taken to court again on June 9.
