On Friday, Gonzalez claimed that mass shooter Salvador Ramos had previously told people he was going to organize a school shooting at the age of 18, the New York Post reported.
“The shooter was arrested a year ago, four years ago. The plan is basically to say, you know, when I’m going to be a senior in 2022, I’m going to be shooting at a school,” Gonzalez said during the Fox News segment. “Something went wrong between then and now to make it happen. We have to get rid of all the information. We need to find out what happened, “he continued.
However, a law enforcement official, who denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s intelligence have been made more than once. In a tweet, Gonzalez said there were actually two teenagers who planned a mass shooting in 2018 but Ramos was not one of them. The teens were arrested on conspiracy charges, the New York Post reported.
During a news conference this week, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Ramos may have a record. “He may have a juvenile record, but it hasn’t been determined yet,” Abbott said.
