Members of the NBA team wore T-shirts with “We Are BG” written around them in practice on Saturday before Game 2 of the NBA Finals, which showed their support for WNBA superstar Brittany Greener, who is still in Russia.

“The shirts were not just a show of support for our sister Brittany Greener, who was detained in Russia. ESPN “Over the years, she has been an integral part of the WNBA in college, and the amount of influence she has had on young female athletes in the United States and abroad.”

He continued, “We hope to get him back to the United States and reunite with his family and do what he likes and bring back the love and determination he always plays on the court.”

Williams said the shirts were a collaboration between the NBPA and the WNBPA to show support for Greener because he has been detained in Russia, where he has been in custody since February.

Williams, vice president of the National Basketball Players Association, explained, “They sent us overnight to bring them here for today.” “It simply came to our notice then. We just wanted to do it as a team. It’s a thing where no one questions it. Everyone said, ‘Let’s do this.’ Fresh from the box, everyone put on the shirt. They were ironed and good to go. So we wanted to show that love and support. “

Greener, who has been in Russian custody since being detained at an airport in mid-February, was told by the US government that he had been unjustly detained. He was carrying a vape cartridge containing an illicit substance, hashish oil, in Russia and has now been detained for more than 100 days.
