Florida Govt. Ron Descentis Rejects offer of a baseball team, Tampa Bay Ray, $ 35 million charged because the group tweeted about gun control.
Tampa Bay Ray wanted to raise 35 million from the government for a new practice facility. Nevertheless, Descentis refused their request because they tweeted about their position against gun control, the New York Post reported.
“We all deserve to be safe – in schools, grocery stores, places of worship, in our neighborhoods, at home and in America. The recent mass shootings in Buffalo and Uwalde have shaken our roots. Tampa Bay Ray mourns the heartbreaking tragedies that claimed the lives of innocent children and adults, “the tweet read. “It simply came to our notice then. We cannot be numb. We can’t look the other way. We all know that if nothing changes, nothing changes, “the tweet read.
This is not the first time that Descentis has used his power as governor against people and organizations who speak out against his political and seemingly personal decisions. He recently stripped Disney of its self-governing status after opposing gender identity education in schools.
